Mary M. Thomas, 86 of Lillington died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington. She was the daughter of the late Mallie Alford and Geneva Williams Thomas. She was the tenth of twelve children. She will be remembered by many for her years of working as a local store owner in the Town of Lillington. She was also an avid sports enthusiast and was deeply devoted to NC State's Women's basketball team. As a devoted fan, she traveled with the team for many years to most of their games, in state and out of state, and even traveled as far as China to show her team support.

Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Dalton and Nora Lynn Finch (Senior Association Director and Senior Women's Administrator for the Atlantic Coast Conference)officiating. Emtombment will be in Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-7:30 pm.

She is survived by a sister, Ruby Mae Thomas of Spartanburg, SC. 18 nieces and nephews
