Mrs. Mary Lou Sanford, 80, of Fuquay-Varina passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. She was born in Johnston County, the daughter of the late Marvin Lovejoy and Mary Anna Wood Barbour. Mrs. Sanford was preceded in death by her former husband, Buck Sanford and a son, Tony Sanford.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel in Lillington. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM.

Mrs. Sanford is survived by 2 sons, Curtis Sanford and wife Teresa of Fuquay-Varina and Ken Sanford of Houston, TX, granddaughter, Summer Sanford, 2 sisters, Ernestine Maynard of Kenly and Elsie Tart of Dunn, 2 brothers, Melvin Barbour of Coats and Roy Barbour of Dunn, daughter, Ginger Sanford of Clayton.
