Mrs. Mary E. LaFon, 81, of Bunnlevel , formerly of Akron, OH., passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. She was born in Spokane, WA., the daughter of the late Daniel Weyman and Violet Mae Moore Stewart. Mary loved boating and fishing on Lake Erie and off the Carolina Coast. She moved to Bunnlevel in 2012 and enjoyed living there in her new home. She was preceded in death by her grandson, William J. Doyle, IV.

Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2014 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel with Rev. Jeff Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mary is survived by her husband of 25 years, Daniel R. LaFon of the home, 2 sons, William J. (Susan) Doyle of Bunnlevel, NC and Stephen C. Doyle of New Braunfels, TX, 2 daughters, Diana Steinmetz of Barnardsville, NC and Georgia Franks of Akron, OH, 6 grandchildren, Mary E. Smith (Mark) of Dickson, TN, Juanita M. Doyle of Nashville, TN, Daniel Doyle of Akron, OH, Angelia Proctor (Bill) of Wagoner, OK, Paul C. Robb (Jamie) of Findlay, OH, Jacqueline "Hope" Ixcoy Ajanel (Pedro) of New Philadelphia, OH, 10 great-grandchildren, great-great granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
