Mrs. Mary "Dixie" Carter Gainey, 82, of Lillington passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at Green Leaf Care Center in Lillington. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Waylon Bright Carter and Mary Elizabeth Adams Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons Danny Ray Gainey and Roy Gainey, brother, and a sister. Dixie loved to write and go to church.

Dixie is survived by her daughter, Jean Boggs and husband, Jimmie of Lillington; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Bessie Chapman; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, November 14, 2021 beginning at 1:00 PM at the home of Jimmie and Jean Boggs, 103 Carr Lane, Lillington, NC  27546.
