Martha Rose Preslar Turner,84, of Buies Creek took her heavenly flight surrounded by family and friends, and her beloved husband of 64 and a half years Dr. Rufus Benton Turner, Saturday February 22, 2014. She was born August 3, 1929 the daughter of George W. and Rosa Hinson Preslar of Peachland, NC. She married Rufus Benton Turner June 11, 1949. Together they had four sons; Gerald Rufus Turner (husband of Emerita) of Summerville SC, Ronald James Turner (Sherry) of Walstonburg, NC, Michael Glenn Turner (Pamela) of Zebulon, NC and Stephen Mark Turner (Mechell) of Peachland, NC. They had 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

She was a graduate of Campbell and East Carolina Universities. She was a Special Education teacher in Harnett County Schools. She was a longtime member of Buies Creek First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6-8 pm at the O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday February 26 2 pm at Buies Creek First Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Buies Creek Cemetery.
