Mrs. Margarette Dorothy Cagle Fields, 95, of Lillington died Saturday, January 26, 2013. She was born in Spartanburg Co., SC, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Fields Cagle. Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Roy E. Fields; daughter, Kathryn F. Abilene and seven brothers. Prior to moving to Lillington in 1965, she was active in the First Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville as well as the Fayetteville community. She was also very active in the Girl Scouts as a volunteer, director of Cumberland County and a director in the Pines of Carolina Girl Scouts. After moving to Lillington, she was very involved in the Four Seasons Garden Club as well as other organizations. She was a member of Lillington Presbyterian Church where she received a Honorary Life Membership from the Presbyterian Women in recognition of her longtime service and the many offices she held.
Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Monday January 28, 2013 at Lillington Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bill Goodnight officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 1:00-2:00 PM.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirlee Johnson of Lillington; 4 grandchildren, Susan S. DuPree, Ronald Freudendahl, Michael Freudendahl, Kristi J. Adams; great-grandchildren, Amanda Sills, Samantha DuPree and Jessica DuPree.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lillington Presbyterian Church, PO Box 245, Lillington, NC 27546.
