Obituary

Margaret Harper Riddle, 93, originally of Gastonia, died in Lillington July 14, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Anne R. Plummer and her husband, Steve.

Mrs. Riddle was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Riddle; parents, Andrew C. and Janie C. Harper; sisters, Kathleen H. Torrence and Edna H. Kendrick and a brother, Harry C. Harper.

Mrs. Riddle retired from teaching at Robinson Elementary School in Gastonia and was a member of Union Presbyterian Church of Gastonia, where she was honored with the Presbyterian Women life membership in 1984.

Survivors also include two other daughters, Jane R. Sillars and husband Duncan of Lansing, NC; Beth R. High and husband, Larry of Rocky Mount; three grandchildren, Robert Reid III of Gastonia; Laura Beth P. Oliver and husband, Matthew of Lillington; and Daniel W. Plummer of Wilmington; and two great- grandchildren, Ashton and Emily Oliver.

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Union Presbyterian Church in Gastonia. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home, Lillington and also from 1:00-1:45 pm on Saturday prior to the service at Union Presbyterian Church.
