Mrs. Lynda Sawyer Holland, 81, of Lillington passed away peacefully Saturday, May 21, 2022 , at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Johnston County, NC, the daughter of the late Lorman and Beatrice Brown Sawyer. In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her husband R.H. Holland, her brothers, Lynn, J.W. and Robert Sawyer, and sisters Peggy Coats and Dorothy Stewart. She graduated from Boone Trail High School. She worked at Blue Bell shirt factory in Lillington NC, and Coty in Sanford, NC.

Lynda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Lynda loved spending time with her grandchildren. She spent much of her free time gardening, tending her flowers, and cooking Sunday supper for her family. She could often be found standing by her stove cooking pies or cakes, working on crossword puzzles or at the dining room table working on jigsaw puzzles. Many people that knew Lynda would remember her strong will, unwavering work ethic and passion for completing any task that she put her mind towards.

Survivors include sons, Ricky Holland of Angier, Shane Holland and wife Carol of Bunnlevel, Robert Holland and wife Heidi of Clayton, and daughter, Angela Pope and husband Richard of Broadway. Grandchildren, Stephen Holland, Madison Holland, Jackson Holland, Kendall Holland, Riley Holland, Lucas Holland, Seth Quillen, Sydney Pope and Nicholas Pope, and great grandchildren Alyssa Humphrey and Adelaide Bosse.

Friends and family are invited to visit O'Quinn Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00 PM to pay their respects to Mrs. Holland. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, May 25, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lillington, NC.
