Mrs. Lula Blackmon Hair, 89, of Lillington, formerly of Anderson Creek, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Green Leaf Care Center in Lillington. She was born in Cumberland County, the daughter of the late Troy and Nettie Blackmon. Lula was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and raising chickens. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lula was preceded in death by her husband, Rufe Hair; sisters, Lottie Hardison, Emer Kennedy and Katherine Cross.

Lula is survived by daughter, Mary Lou Ryan and husband, Alexander of Spring Lake; son, Kenny Hair and wife, Linda of Linden; son, Billy Hair of Bunnlevel; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Hubert Blackmon of Linden, Junior Blackmon of Lillington; sisters, Dorothy West and husband, Floyd of Spring Lake, Lena May Blackmon of Sanford

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel in Lillington. Burial will follow in Gourd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 PM and other times at the home of Kenny Hair.
