LT COL USAF Carl Wade Singleton, 81, born on July 27, 1940 and died Monday January 17, 2022 surrounded by family.

He was the son of the late William Marshall and Corda Inez Singleton of Covington, KY. He served in the US Air Force for 27 years as a pilot. In addition, he was a flight instructor and a Church of Christ Preacher. Mr. Singleton was a writer, handyman, and avid Bible scholar. He was preceded in death by his wife Veleda Gay Singleton, wife Flora Candace Singleton, grandson Nathyn Lynn Ford, son in law Pete Evrard, and great granddaughter Lathynn Grace Smothers.

A service will take place at Oak Forest Church of Christ in Goldsboro, NC at 3 pm on Sunday January 23, 2022.

Survivors include Sheridan L. Dodd and husband Gary Dodd, Vivian I. Ford Evrard, Deanna H. Morris and husband Bret Morris, Nancy E. Preuit and husband Michael Preuit, Janelle R. Miller and husband Luke Miller, and step children Christopher R. Cox and wife Renee Cox and Mitzi Cherie Fannon and husband Lee Fannon.

Grandchildren:  Brandon Singleton, Courtney Oxendine and husband Sam Swartz, Randi Strahin and husband Josh Strahin, Sarah Ford Smothers and husband Lowell Smothers, Brie O'Conner and husband Brian O'Conner, Hallie Miller, Nathan Miller, Grace Miller, Jacob Fannon, Jaden Preuit, Matthew Evrard, Brittany Helmuth and husband Dean Helmuth and Molly McCreary and husband Jason McCreary. Great Grandchildren:  Iseabel, Bentlee, Nathaniel, Liam, Theodore, Gabriella, Olive, Lillian and Mason.
