Mr. Lonnie T. Crenshaw, 85, of Cary, formerly of Lillington, passed Sunday morning, June 4, 2017. He was born in Robeson County, the son of the late James Paul and Lena Johnson Crenshaw. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Oleta Smith, Jean Smith and Molly Prevatte; four brothers, Max Crenshaw, Belton Crenshaw, Robert Crenshaw and Neil Crenshaw. Mr. Crenshaw was a member of First Baptist Church in Garner and attended Coats Baptist Church for many years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed visiting the Great Smokey Mountains. Mr. Crenshaw enjoyed a long and varied career in public utility construction, retiring from Harnett County Department of Public Utilities in 2010.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joan Butler Crenshaw of the home; daughter, Deborah Sherrod of Fuquay-Varina; sons, Dennis Crenshaw and wife, Susan of Charlotte; Wendell Crenshaw and wife, Ludmila of Cary; Tony Crenshaw of Raleigh; sister, Sylvia Raby of St. Pauls, NC ; 7 grandchildren, Matthew Crenshaw, Rebekah Crenshaw, Carolyn Crenshaw, Jared Crenshaw and wife Melissa, Elise Agnor, Michael Crenshaw and David Crenshaw; 2 great-grandsons, Jordan and Oliver Agnor.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Coats Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Newkirk officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 1:00-2:00 PM and other times at the home of Deborah Sherrod.
