Lonnie Sherrill Coats, 63 of Lillington died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Betsy Johnson Hospital.

Lonnie was born January 15, 1952 in Harnett Co. to the late Alonzo Faison and Mary Louise Godwin Coats. Lonnie was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Alonzo Faison Coats and Rufus Albert Coats; a sister, Mary Katherine Johnson.

Lonnie worker for Morganite for over 35 years and was currently employed with the City of Dunn. Lonnie was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He loved spending time with everyone in the community. He loved playing music and being a machinist.

Lonnie is survived by 2 sons, Christopher Sherrill Coats of Lillington, and Jared Russell Coats of Fuquay-Varina, 2 brothers, William Edward Coats of Coats and John Daniel Coats and wife Barbara of Newport News, VA; 6 grandchildren, Alexis Marie Coats, Christopher Thomas Coats, Jacquelin Coats, Jacob Coats, Jaspen Coats, Jaycee Coats.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Angier Fellowship Church with Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Coats Family Cemetery, 95 American Legion Road, Lillington. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at The Schoolhouse at 95 American Legion Road, Lillington.
