Lloyd Jarrell, 88 of Lillington, NC, went to be with his heavenly father on July 22, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, daddy worm, and papa to his family. He peacefully went to be with the Lord in the comfort of his home with his wife and loved ones by his side. He and his identical twin brother Paul were born in Warren County, NC on May 20, 1927 to the late James Thomas Jarrell and Irene Shearin Jarrell Register. He was then raised on a small farm in Harnett County. He is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Lloyd met and married his true love Peggy Alease Bennett in 1946. He is a veteran of the US Army and served in WW II and the Korean War. His time served in Germany was one of the most remembered times as he has shared many stories of this time. Throughout his professional career, he served in the grocery industry and the trucking industry. In 1995, he retired and settled in Lillington, NC. He will always be remembered by his love for his family, his humor, his smile, his twinkling eyes and most importantly his ability to tell a story like no other.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2015 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy McLamb and Lenny Logan officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Harnett Memorial Park, Lillington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:30- 2:00 PM and other times at the home.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 69 years- Peggy Alease Bennett Jarrell, one son - Tommy Jarrell and his wife Linda, two daughters - Peggy Ann Jarrell Garner and her husband Larry, Brenda Jarrell Atkins and her husband Donnie, two sisters - Mary Huffman and Irene (Vicky) Collins, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He also leaves behind lots of loved nieces and nephews and a cherished friend who he loved like a son, Lenny Logan. Rest in Peace forever more Lloyd Jarrell.
