Mrs. Linda Williams, 82, of Lillington, NC, went to be with our Lord and savior on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Linda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

After retiring in 2000, Linda reignited her love for sewing and quilting. She cherished attending her weekly quilting classes, where she formed lifelong friendships while creating beautiful quilts filled with love and memories.

Linda was a God-fearing woman who never missed an opportunity to share the love of the Lord, often over a cold glass of sweet tea. Her faith shaped every part of who she was. Like the Lord she served, Linda opened her arms and her home to everyone. Whether you called her Momma, Mamaw, or Grandma Linda, each person could share a story of her compassion, generosity, and unconditional love.

When Linda wasn't sewing, cutting quilt squares, or watching General Hospital, she could be found building wooden crosses alongside her beloved husband and her Flatwoods Community Baptist Church family. A faithful member of the church for over 20 years, Linda's devotion to the Lord remained strong throughout her life. Her faith, love, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Linda is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Martin "Butch" Williams; her daughter, Bonnie (Nick)Bowen of Sierra Vista, AZ; grandson, Justin Bowen of Sierra Vista, AZ; granddaughter, Christa (Brandon)Henderson of Greenwood, DE; and granddaughters Courtney, Haleigh, and Lauren Pingley of TN.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Autumn Bowen and Aivin Gilchrist of Sierra Vista, AZ; Kohin Haire of Fayetteville, NC; and Blake and Raelyn Henderson of Greenwood, DE.

Linda is survived by her sisters-in-law: Mary Sue Kelly and Louise Gilchrist of NC, and Linda McKinney of PA. Kitty Bowersock of FL, Mary Warren of OR, Barbara Zempele of TN and Frances Banning of GA and brothers-in law: Chuck Williams of CA, Jimmy Williams of MD

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Viola McKinney; her brothers, James McKinney and Lemuel McKinney; and her first husband, Alvin Gilchrist.

A Celebration of Homegoing will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Flatwoods Community Baptist Church, 156 Flatwoods Baptist Lane, Lillington, NC 27546.
