Mrs. Linda Hawley Stephens, 65, of Lillington passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at her home. A native of Lillington, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Naomi Fore Hawley and the wife of Tim Stephens for over 45 years. Linda graduated from Lillington High School in 1965 and Campbell College in 1969. She continued her education at NC State University where she received her Masters of Education.
Linda retired from Harnett Co. Schools after 33 years as a school counselor. She was a life long member of Lillington Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. Linda's most recent contribution to the Town of Lillington was serving as a Town Commissioner for the past 6 years.

In addition to her husband, Tim, she is survived by her son, David Stephens and wife Dana of Angier, son, Mark Stephens and wife Karen of Angier; 4 grandchildren, Layne, Maddie, Katelyn and Matthew.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Lillington Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Smith, Rev. Jeff Roberts and Pastor Terry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Summerville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Lillington Baptist Church Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM.
