Linda Patterson, age 74, passed away on Sunday (01/30/2022) at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Bobby Washington Howard and Stella Buchanan Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Wilma Dot Howard, brothers Tillman Howard and James Robert Howard, and sister Laverne Seagroves.

Linda was a graduate of Broadway High School. A talented pianist at an early age, she was the accompanist for Baptist Chapel Church and a local gospel group for many years. She had an eye for detail with enhanced skills in gardening, interior, and floral design. Her family often sought her creative advice. Loving, thoughtful, shy, quick to laugh, she was always considerate of others' needs. Linda truly enjoyed being with her family, sisters, and friends.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years Mike Patterson, daughters Michelle Patterson Anderson and husband Eric of Chattanooga, TN and Jamie Patterson Watson and husband Kevin of Weaverville, NC., and grandchild Nadia Elise Watson of Weaverville, NC. Sisters Mary Sue Cameron and husband Rodney of Sanford, NC. and Melba McNeill and husband Sammy of Broadway, NC, and sister-in-law Clara Howard of Sanford, NC.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, 3:00 pm. at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Yow and Rev. Jerry Parsons. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church cemetery after the service and other times at the home.

Friends are invited to visit O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Tuesday, February 1, 2022, between the hours of 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM and Wednesday, February 2, 2022, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM to sign the guest register book. The family will not be present during this time.
