Linda Bell Newton, 68, of Lillington passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at her home.

Linda was born on March 1, 1945 to Hubert and Beatrice Bell of Lillington, NC.

Linda lived her entire life in Harnett County. In 1964, Linda married the love of her life, Michael Newton. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. She is also survived by a son, Bryan and wife Barbara; daughter, Kelli and husband Gary, 4 grandchildren, Ross, Lindsey, Mackenzie and Macy; mother, Beatrice Bell, sister, Janet Campbell and sister-in-law, Jean Dawson and husband Bob.

Linda had a love of life and the most important things in her life were her family, her faith and her church. Her gift of joy shown through her constant smiling, laughter and sense of humor won the hearts of everyone who knew her. Linda loved to laugh and to laugh at herself. Throughout her illness Linda was at peace and believed that God had a plan for her. Her faith never waivered.

Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel with Rev. Martin Groover and Rev. Michael Sadtler officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2:00-3:00 P.M. and other times at the home.
