Mr. Levie C. Cameron, Sr., born August 3, 1919, died October 18, 2009. His parents were Daniel Alexander and Josephine Hawley Cameron. He was the youngest and the last survivor of twelve children. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant brother and brothers, George, Daniel Ernest, Tommy, Leon, Fred, and Hubert; Sisters, Ruth C. McDonald, Maggie Kate C. Thomas, Mary Rachael McLeod Thomas, Annie C. McIver, and Ida C. Cameron. Also preceded him in death were infant daughter Mariana Cameron and daughter Maria Cuscutis. His devoted wife of 36 years, Mariana Pipkin Cameron, died in 1983.
Levie's parents were among the founding fathers of Leaflet Presbyterian Church near Broadway. He grew up in the church where he was a devoted lifetime member. He served as deacon, elder, church treasurer, Sunday School superintendent, and choir member. A carpenter by trade, he was active in various church renovations and building projects. Before retiring, he worked with W. L. Jewell Contracting Company in Sanford, NC. He was a veteran of WWII and member of the American Legion. He was a charter member of the Sanford VFW , the Boone Trail Ruritan Club, and the Upper Little River Fox Hunter's Club. Mr. Cameron was known for his sense of humor and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He love to sing Christian music and through the years sang with various community quartets and choirs. His family and Leaflet Church members honored him recently with a luncheon celebrating his 90th birthday The Coastal Carolina Presbytery honored him on October 4, 2009 for his dedicated service in promoting Christianity.
Funeral service will be conducted 4:00 pm Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Leaflet Presbyterian Church, Broadway with Rev. Pat Fletcher and Mr. Phil Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

McClintic and husband Matt of Myrtle Beach, SC; Grandson, Jeffrey Cuscutis and wife Sarah of Miami,Fla.;Sisters in law, Elizabeth Cameron of Broadway, Charity Pipkin Riddle, and Geneva Pipkin, both of Sanford,Jean Pipkin Duty of Mamers; Numerous nieces and nephews; Special Friend, Virginia Partington of Sanford
