Mr. Lawrence Ray Lanier, 87, of Fuquay-Varina passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late Exum Dallas Lanier and Oma Mavis Spence Lanier. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Anne Truelove Lanier and brother, Bobby Lanier.

Lawrence was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked and retired from Lufkin Cooper Group with over 25 years of service. Lawrence was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing and listening to Bluegrass music. He also loved spending time in his shop fixing things for friends and neighbors.

Lawrence is survived by his daughter, Laura White and husband, Tommy of Fuquay-Varina; grandson, William Randall White of Fuquay-Varina; great-grandson, William Ace White of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Linda Ray Davis of Lillington; nephews, Randy Davis, Craig McLeod, David McLeod, Jeff Cope, Bruce Pierce, Perry Truelove; nieces, Sarah Cope, Tammy Brown, Sheila Nelson, Vannette Truelove, Jessica Truelove; brother-in-law, Eugene Truelove and sister-in-law, Nannette Truelove.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in the Christian Light Christian Church fellowship hall. A funeral service will follow in the sanctuary at 11:00 AM with David McLeod and Eugene Truelove officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
