Mrs. LaVerne Wilborn Bain, 81, of Bunnlevel passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Transitions LifeCare in Cary. She was born March 13, 1934 to the late Gary Washington and Mary Louise Salmon Wilborn. Mrs. Bain was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and farm wife. She grew up in Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church until marrying her husband, Charles Edwin Bain, and becoming a member of Flat Branch Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Presbyterian Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an infant brother.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Flat Branch Presbyterian Church in Bunnlevel with Dr. Michael Armistead and Rev. Bert Pitchford officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00-8:00 PM at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Survivors include three sons, Reggie Bain and wife Carol of Bunnlevel, Curtis Bain and wife Beverly of Kipling, and Jeffrey Bain and wife Amy of Kipling and daughter Vickie Bain Wilson of Lillington, grandchildren, Ashley Wilder Parsons and husband Chris, Matthew and wife Lauren Byrd Bain, Kristen Wilder, Justin Bain and wife Jessica Green Bain, Kyle Bain and Savannah Bain, great-granddaughter, Kennedy Parsons, and brother, G. Reynolds Wilborn of Columbia, SC.
