Mrs. Laura Nixon Meredith, age 75, of Durham, formerly of Linden, died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. She was born in Cumberland County, the daughter of the late Charles Durant and Eva Stegall Nixon. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel, Lillington with Rev. Ken Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM.

She is survived by her son, John Walker Meredith and wife Natalyia of Durham, granddaughter, Marina Afanasieva Loskutova and husband Andrey, great-granddaughter, Victoria Loskutova and brother, John A. Nixon of Moss Point, Mississippi.
