Larry Edward Smott, 70 of Erwin passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at Wake Med Raleigh.

Larry was born in Richmond IN to the late Richard and Mary Turner Smott.

Larry served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. Larry was a computer technician who installed and maintained voice mail equipment throughout the country. Larry loved photography and had his own photography business for many years.

Larry is survived by his wife Ritha Smott of Erwin, a daughter, Heather Smott of Chicago and a son, Richard Smott and wife Sarah of Westchester; a sister, Peggy Guinta of Columbus OH; 4 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Goodnight officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Gary and Karen McFadden.
