Larry Rayfield Paul, Sr., 61, of Bunnlevel, NC, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Betsy Johnson Hospital, in Dunn, NC.

He was born January 17, 1960, in New Bern, NC, to the late Mavis Midyette Paul and Hilton Paul. Larry was proceeded, in death, by his brother, Gary Paul.

You did not have to be around Larry long, to realize what was important to him – God, family, and ministries for the Lord. He cherished memories shared with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Larry was licensed to preach in 2006. He began singing tenor with The Believers, a southern gospel group, in 1996, and sang with them, until his failing health prevented him from continuing. He enjoyed hunting with others and sharing fellowship with his friends... especially the great food they cooked, each time, and the naps.  Larry was a member of Redemption Hill Erwin.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patsy Baldwin Paul; his children Michael Wayne Paul and fiancée Jennifer Jamison, April Paul Schell and husband Jason Schell, Larry Rayfield "L.R." Paul, Jr. and fiancée Ashley Matney, and Misty Paul Oakes and husband D.J. Oakes. He was Poppals to 14 grandchildren- Christopher (Madison), Faith (Christopher), David (Olivia), Patrick (Khia), Nick (Carrionna), Bethany, Christalyn (Shakeem), Kyra, Amber, Donnie, Noah, Eric, Titus, and Rayana. He was also Poppals to 5 great-grandchildren- Braelynn, Logan, Baylee, Avalynn, Xavier, and 2 others on the way; his sister, Jenny Lee and husband Danny; his brother, Johnnie Paul and wife Carla; and many nieces and nephews. .

The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM on Thursday, November 11. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 2PM, at Harnett Memorial Park with Pastor Cecil McNeill officiating.
