Joyce Duncan Gourlay, 69 of Erwin died Friday, December 25, 2015 at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.

Joyce was born December 19, 1946 in Oil City, PA to Jean Duncan and the late Col. James R. Duncan. Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Jean Duncan.

Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family, dogs, and a good bowl of spaghetti.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles Gourlay of Erwin; a daughter, Charlene Marie Gourlay of Raleigh; her mother, Jean Duncan of Wake Forest; a sister, Michelle Duncan Patterson and husband William of Cross Junction, VA ; an aunt, Lois Kirkwood of Chapel Hill; a niece, Patricia Van Graafeiland and husband Robert of Wake Forest; a nephew, Robert Patterson and wife Margaret of Wake Forest.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Westview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105
