Mr. Joseph "Demp" Senter, age 86, of Fuquay Varina died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Wake Medical Center in Cary. He was born in Harnett County to Essie Senter Dean. Mr. Senter retired from Weaver Brothers Volvo after many years of service. He was an avid fisherman and well known boat mechanic. Mr. Senter loved gardening and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Rose Senter, son, Gary Senter, brother, Crayton Senter.

Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Christian Light Christian Church in Fuquay Varina with Rev. Jimmy Elliott and Rev. Kevin Champion officiating. A private burial will take place before service. The family will receive friends at the home following the service on Wednesday.

He is survived by a daughter, Elaine Senter of Morehead City, NC, daughter, Sue Hubbard of Newport, NC, son, Joe Senter of Newport, NC, son, Darrell Senter of Myrtle Beach, SC, son, Leroy Senter and wife Nancy of Cary, NC, daughter, Karen Senter of Beaufort, NC, daughter, Anette Bennett and husband Edward of Fuquay Varina, NC, sister, Nellie Coleman of Lillington, NC, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren
