Joseph "Joe" Loyd Adams, 76 of Lillington died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Wake Med Raleigh.

Joe was born June 24, 1939 in Harnett Co. to the late Joseph Rosevelt and Mary Lee Avery Adams. Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Adams; and a sister, Malinda Autry.

Joe retired from the NC Department of Corrections. He attended Lillington Presbyterian Church. He loved to hunt and hang out on the farm.

Joe is survived by a sister, Diane Tyndall and husband Wayne of Dunn; 2 brothers, David Adams and Billy Adams both of Lillington; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Westview Cemetery with Rev.
Dawn Stoker officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:45 P.M. Saturday at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home.
