Johnnie A. Jackson, 84, of Lillington, died Friday, November 4, 2022 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC.

Johnnie was born February 25, 1938 in Harnett County to the late Rev. P.O. Jackson and Madgie Hall Jackson.  He was a veteran of the US Army and retired as a utility construction coordinator with Harnett Regional Water in December 2021.  He was a loving father and grandfather and had a gift of helping others in need.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley Jackson, Samuel Jackson, and Fonzal Jackson; sisters, Lib Barefoot, Marie Smith, and Mildred Godwin.

Johnnie is survived by daughter, Jackie Harrington and husband, Jimmy; granddaughter, Austin Johnson; great grandchildren, Karli, and Levi Johnson; the love of his life, Shirley Wheeler; brothers, Franklin Jackson and wife, Violet, and Ray Jackson and wife, Elaine; and sister, Patricia Radford.

A memorial service will be held 6pm Monday, November 7, 2022 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 1310 S. Main St., Lillington, NC 27546.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital; or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
