Mr. John Samuel "Sammy" Suggs, 66 of Lillington died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. A native of Harnett County, Sammy began working as a roofing contractor and opened his business as Suggs Roofing in Fuquay-Springs. He then worked as a sub-contractor with NASA for 3 years in Mississippi. Moving back to Lillington, he began Sandhill Vinyl Siding as owner and operator for over 25 years until his retirement in 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Burla McNeil Suggs; 2 brothers, Swanson and Claybon; and sister, Helen Steed.

Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 pm Friday, May 20, 2011 at Baptist Grove Baptist Church, 6140 Christian Light Road, Fuquay-Varina with Rev. Ben Pearce and Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Burial will be at Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, other times at his home.
