Mr. John Troy "J.T." McDonald, 66 of Lillington died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Hospice House of Pinehurst. A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Annie Mae Mize McDonald. J.T. was a retired veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country for 30 years.

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Ephesus Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bertrand Pitchford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home, other times at his home.

J.T. is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda White McDonald. Sons, John Troy McDonald, II and wife Katie of Virginia; Joshua McDonald and wife Laura of Georgia. Daughter, Misty McDonald of Lillington. Brothers, Tommie Blue McDonald and Ronnie McDonald, both of Lillington. Sister, Barbara Ross of Lillington. 6 Grandchildren: Amanda McNeill, Brandon McDonald, Joshua McDonald, David Becker, Olivia and Anna McDonald. Niece, Shelia Rockwell and husband Rocky of Alabama.
