Mr. John Raymond Genthe, age 66, of Broadway died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at his home. He grew up in Augusta, GA, the son of the late J.C. and Dolly Mayo. Mr. Genthe was a US Army veteran and co-owner of Genthe Plumbing along with his son, Allen.

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, November 6, 2009 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel with Rev. Barry Lawrence officiating. Burial will be at Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, November 5, 2009, other times at the home.

Mr. Genthe is survived by his wife, Polly Johnson Genthe of the home. Daughter, Diane Hardy of Broadway. Sons, Allen Genthe and wife Donna of Broadway, Wade Genthe and wife Tammy of Broadway. 6 Grandchildren: Samantha Hardy, Jessica Hardy, Courtney Genthe, Joshua Genthe, Kasey Genthe, and Emily Genthe. Brother, James Mayo of Augusta, GA. Sister, Cathy Mayo of Phoenix, AZ.
