John Owen Cooke, 73 passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday, September 24, 2014.

John was born April 24, 1941 in Harnett County to the late Major Owen Cooke and Lourae Austin Cooke.

John never found a stranger and loved everyone.

John is survived by his partner and best friend, Claudine Caulder; 2 sisters, LaVette Cooke Morgan and Barbara Cooke King; a niece, Laurel Boone Lane; 4 nephews, Terry Boone, John Boone, David Boone and Hervey Wagner.

A memorial Service will be 11:00 A.M Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Christian Light Christian Church, 4351 Christian Light Road, Fuquay-Varina. Burial will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will have visiting hours Friday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the home.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1231 North Main Street, Lillington NC 27546.
