Haywood native Joanne Boone Byrd, 84, of Bunnlevel, NC, passed away peacefully in her home on May 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Byrd, who passed away Dec. 19, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Macinda Byrd; her daughter Penny Byrd Johnson and her husband Randy; her son Robert Byrd and his wife Kate; her sister Linda Boone Garrett and her husband Tom, her sister Sara Boone Campbell, her sister Eugenia Boone Jeter and her husband Jim, her sister Ruth Helen Boone Noland and her husband Bill, her brother Allen Boone and his wife Betty; her brother James (Jimmy) Boone; her brother Joseph (Buddy) Boone and his wife Bertha; and Quinn Boone, widow of her brother Bill Martin Boone.

A memorial service will be held at the Bunnlevel Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 23, at the Bunnlevel Presbyterian Church. The family will meet with extended family and friends after the memorial service at the church.
