Mr. Jimmy V. O'Quinn, 82, of Mamers, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 10, 2019.

Jimmy was born July 6, 1936, in Harnett County to the late Elvin and Ruby O'Quinn.  He was a lifelong farmer.  He loved fishing, both fresh and saltwater.  Over the years he had a wide variety of animals, from a monkey to birds, but his all-time favorite was his beloved dog Shorty, who went with him everywhere.  Jimmy was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019, at 4 pm in Antioch Baptist Church.  The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Shields; and brother, Bobby O'Quinn.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jenny M. O'Quinn; son, Jimmy F. O'Quinn and wife, Debbie; four grandchildren, Eddie Burgess and wife Catherine, Andrew Burgess and wife Vanessa, Amber O'Quinn and fiancée Spencer and Tori Weaver and husband Zack; 4 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Quinn, Waylon and Ashton; and one brother, Halford O'Quinn and wife Lespie.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday at the church from 2:30 to 4 pm.
