Jessie G. Patterson, 87 of Broadway died Thursday, April 3, 2014 at her residence.

Jessie was born in Lee County to the late Wilbur Marvin and Ella Maude Gillis. She was preceded in death by her husband Madison Cleo Patterson and 2 sons, Travis and Delbert Patterson.

Jessie was a member of the Women's Missionary Group and taught Sunday School at Holly Springs Baptist Church, where she attended for at least 67 years. She loved her grandchildren, shopping, eating and singing.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the multi purpose building at Holly Springs Baptist Church and other times at the home of her daughter, LaVerne Wright.

Jessie is survived by a son, Dale Patterson and wife Deborah of Broadway; 2 daughters, LaVerne Patterson Wright and husband Gene of Broadway, and Janice Patterson Thomas and husband Danny of Lillington; 2 brothers, Robert Gillis and wife Grace of Broadway, and Gary Gene Gillis and wife LaVerne of Cary; a sister, Roberta Paye of Winter Haven FL; 9 grandchildren, Connie Christian, Robert Wright, Lora Wilson, Andrew Wright, Danette Price, Hope Patterson, Tabitha Schiffer, Eddie Moore, and Dan Thomas; and 14 Great Grandchildren.
