Mr. Jesse Seawell Byrd, 78, of Broadway died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 following a lengthy illness. He was born at home in Harnett County, the son of the late Dewey Birtis and Hazel Wester Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a US Army veteran serving in Korea and Japan. He was a life long member of Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway. Mr. Byrd was a well known farmer in the Broadway community and married to Wanda Byrd for many years.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 16, 2012 at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at O'Quinn-Peebles Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM and other times at the home of Tammie Adcock in Broadway.

Mr. Byrd is survived by his son, Roger Lynn Byrd and wife Sue of Broadway; daughter, Tammie Byrd Adcock of Broadway; son, James Edwin Byrd and wife Carla of Broadway; 4 grandchildren, Audrey Byrd, Austin Byrd, Carla Adcock and Curt Adcock; 3 great-grandchildren.
