Mr. Jerry M. Byrd, 73 of Lillington died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late Jim and Bertha Byrd Dennis. Mr. Byrd retired fromMagneti-Marelli Manufacturing in Sanford. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers.

Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Martin Groover officiating. Burial will be at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30-3:00 pm prior to the funeral at Antioch Baptist Church, other times at the home of Michael and Michelle Boggs.

Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy Pilson Byrd; Daughters, Michelle Boggs and husband Michael of Mamers; Melodie Wilcox and husband Greg of Clayton; Brothers, Bobby Byrd of Lillington and Herman Byrd of Broadway; Sister, Hazel Thomas of Greensboro. 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Josh, and Nick Boggs; Ella and Ian Wilcox
