Mrs. Jeanette "Jean" W. Sexton, 90, of Lillington went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 13, 2017. She was born in Durham County, the daughter of the late John and Nellie Wesley. Jean moved to Lillington in 1967 when she married Jim Sexton. They owned and operated Sexton Ford for 40 years. She loved her family, was an avid doll collector and enjoyed decorating her home at Christmas. Jean was very active in the community and loved to entertain and travel. She attended Pleasant Union Christian Church in Lillington. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Gaither, Donald and Jack Wesley; sisters, Frances Jones and Esther Hunter.

Jean is survived by 2 sisters, Louise Wyant and Darlene Norris; 2 brothers, John and Billy Wesley; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Pleasant Union Christian Church in Lillington with Dr. Greg Lawson officiating. Entombment will follow in Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.
