Mr. James Delano Holder, 68, of Lillington died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late James Gordon and Elsie Womble Holder. Mr. Holder was a life-long member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church and an active member of the Boone Trail Ruritan Club. Mr. Holder also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He retired from Merita Bakery and Harnett County Schools.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Spring Hill United Methodist Church in Lillington with Terry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00-8:00 PM at Spring Hill United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Matthews Holder of the home; daughter, Tammy Holder Howington of Lillington, daughter, Dana Holder Stephens and David of Lillington; 4 grandchildren, Casey Howington, J.T. Howington, Layne Stephens, Maddie Stephens; sister, Ruby Mangum of Lillington and brother, John Warren Holder and wife Linda of Sanford.
