Mr. James Coley Blaylock, 57, of Lillington passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late Harold Green Blaylock and Edith Gray Moss Johnson. James was co-owner and partner of Blaylock Grading Company for 22 years with his brother, Hal Blaylock. He was a faithful servant and member of Pleasant Union Christian Church, a member of Neills Creek Ruritan Club, served on the Board of First Bank in Lillington and was a loyal friend to the VFW Post 6722 in Lillington. He was preceded in death by his dear friends, Cecil and Polly Wilkins and Willis Umstead.

James' pride and joy was his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. His passion was working daily in his company and serving his community. James truly enjoyed to drive, whether it be CASE heavy equipment, tractors or trucks. He enjoyed his farm, his dogs, Rita and Dixie, and cows as well.

Funeral service will be 4:00 PM Monday, September 14, 2015 at Pleasant Union Christian Church in Lillington with Rev. Terry Beatty, Dr. Brian Kinlaw and Chaplain Cary Snelling officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church Monday from 2:00-4:00 PM.

James is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cindy of the home; daughters, Lauren Strickland and husband, Chad of Lillington; Crystal Blaylock-Gee and husband, Mike of Seattle; grandchildren, Jody James, Callie and Leah Strickland; mother, Edith Gray Johnson of Lillington; brother, Harold Blaylock of Lillington; step-sisters, Laverne Johnson, Deborah Womble and Hollie Wade all of Lillington; mother-in-law, Ann Johnson of Angier; sister-in-law, Janell Capell of Louisburg, NC; nieces and nephews and extended family, Steve and Seeky Gregory of Lillington.
