James Everette Pleyer, 89 of Lillington, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 11, 2016.

Everette was born March 26, 1927 in Hamden MO to the late James Frank Pleyer and Hazel Yocum Pleyer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Jaquith Pleyer; 2 sisters, Eleanor Hayes and Kathleen Lull.

Everette retired from Nazarene Publishing House in Kansas City after 41 years of service. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene since 1950 and a charter member of The Lillington Grace Church of the Nazarene since 2011. He served as church treasurer at St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City for over 40 years. He actively supported the World Missions efforts of the church. He was a skilled handy man helping his family, friends and church. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and doing puzzles.

Everette is survived by two daughters, Arla Jeanne Buchanan and husband Jim of Havana, IL and Ardith Eyring and husband Tim of Lillington; a brother, Homer Pleyer of California; a sister, Evalyn Cole and husband Duane of Oregon; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and a nephew.

Funeral Services will be held 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home with Pastors Tim Eyring, Jim Buchanan and Paul Conley officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, MO at a later date.
