Mrs. Iris H. McDonald, 88, of Lillington passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Green Leaf Care Center in Lillington. She was born in Granville County, the daughter of the Elijah Graham and Lela Matthews Hudgins. Iris and her husband, Fred owned and operated Mason's Store for over 20 years. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. Iris worked as a bookkeeper for the family farm and logging company. She enjoyed cooking for others, flowers and sitting on the porch bird watching. In addition to her husband Fred, she was preceded in death by her son, Lynn McDonald.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lillington with Rev. Robbie O'Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 2:00-3:00 PM.

Iris is survived by a daughter, Teresa Jernigan and husband, Ricky of Lillington; son, Graham McDonald and wife, Deborah of Lillington; 4 grandchildren and a great-grandson; sisters, Eloise Hester of Sanford, Audrey Pickard of Raleigh; brother, Buddy Hudgins of Lillington.
