Inez Cummings Patterson, 85 of Lillington passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington. She was the daughter of the late Erwin and Renee Womack Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husbands Wayne Cummings and Foster Patterson; a daughter, Sue Collins; 4 brothers, Lassiter, John, Rosser and Selby Thomas and 3 sisters, Elnora Howard, Ollie Wicker and Jeanette Worrell. Inez was a long time member of Raven Rock Presbyterian Church of Lillington. She was a certified Master Gardener and she took great pride in her beautiful yard every spring and summer. She was also known for her famous sugar cookies which she so generously distributed throughout many communities. She was especially committed to those who needed a helping hand.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Sanford Rehabilitation Center and E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center for the care given to their mother during her illness.

Funeral service will be conducted 4:00 pm Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Raven Rock Presbyterian Church with Rev. Pat Fletcher and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home, other times at her home.

She is survived by sons; Jerry Cummings and wife Sylvia, Kenneth Cummings and wife Gladys, and Chris Cummings and wife Belinda all of Lillington. Son-in-Law; Johnny Collins of Salisbury. Brother; E. J. Thomas of Eastover. 6 Grandchildren: Leanne O'Quinn, Jerri Lyn Pope, Dawn Holder, Ashley Cummings, Jeremy Collins,and Jessica Collins. 6 Great Grandchildren: Anna Brooke O'Quinn, Taft Cummings, Cody Wilder, Bryson Pope, Joseph and Jacob Collins.
