Henry Carroll "Mac" McDonald, 74, of Bunnlevel, NC passed away Wednesday July 28,2021 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

He was born September 13,1946 in Harnett County to the late Alease Tyndall McDonald and Edwin McDonald. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Wendy McDonald; and his two sons, Bobby Lane McDonald and Jonathon Dwayne McDonald.

Henry served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam and Korean Wars, as a soldier with the 7th Cavalry. Following his military service, Henry attended Fayetteville Technical Community College and pursued a career as a plumber. He was a faithful member of Flat Branch Covenant Presbyterian Church in Bunnlevel. Henry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed riding and raising horses.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Jones; his step-son, Drake Faucette and wife Kitura; his grandchildren, Phillip Jones and James Andrew Jones; his step-grandchildren, Kaden Faucette, Kendall Faucette, and Kody Faucette; his sister, Nina McDonald Maynard and husband Lloyd; and his brother, William Edwin McDonald.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 4 from 6-8PM at O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street in Lillington. A funeral service will be held Thursday August 5 at 10:00AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Daniel Selman officiating. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veteran Cemetery with military honors.
