Mrs. Helen Long Holder, 69, of Lillington, formerly of Fayetteville, died November 26, 2013 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford surrounded by her family.

She was born in New Hanover County, the daughter of the late Jim Mack and Edna Marie Clemmons Savage. Mrs. Holder was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.

She retired as a store manager from Revco Drug in Fayetteville after many years of service. Mrs. Holder was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Fayetteville where she served faithfully for many years. Later in her life, she moved to Lillington and worked as an assistant store manager at Belk in Sanford. She was an avid New York Yankees fan, NASCAR fan and animal lover.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 30, 2013 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel in Lillington. Burial will follow in the Holder Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at the funeral home and other times at the home.

She is survived by her husband, Edward R. Holder of the home, daughter, Marie Long of Anderson Creek, son, Jim Long and wife Denah of Fayetteville, step-daughters, Candace Stephens and husband Bo of Wilmington, Bridget Cox and husband Richie of Sunset Beach; 8 grandchildren, Marianne, Jaxon, Olivia, Brayden, Cade, Griffin, Wyatt and Hope and 2 furry companions, Ruffie and Roly Poly.
