Mrs. Hazel M. Weaver, 95, of Buies Creek passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Sion H. and Lessie Upchurch Mitchell. Mrs. Weaver worked at Barefoot Oil Co. in Dunn and also Lewis Oil Co. in Lillington. She retired from Campbell University after working in the Business Office. She was an active member of Buies Creek First Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Weaver enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Elijah E. Weaver.

Funeral service will be 11:00 Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Buies Creek First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Simmons, Rev. Louis Morgan and Rev. Dr. John Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington. The family will receive friends Wednesday at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington from 6:30-8:30 PM.

Mrs. Weaver is survived by her son, Stanley E. Weaver and wife Jackie of Cary, daughter, Betty Dozier of Madison, Mississippi, 3 grandchildren, Lisa Waters and husband Rick, Sherry Saux and Sheila Dozier, 3 great-grandchildren, Kyle and Ally Waters, Isabella Saux.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buies Creek First Baptist Church (to be used for Prayer Garden), PO Box 160, Buies Creek, NC 27506.
