Mrs. Hazel B. Hare, 70, of Buies Creek died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

Mrs. Hare loved her job as a Detention Officer at the Harnett County Sheriffs office for 19 years. More than anything Hazel loved her family and friends. Her favorite pastime was going to the beach.

Mrs. Hares funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Buies Creek 1st Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Monday, June 3, 2013 at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.

Hazel is survived by her husband of 42 years, A.G. Hare, of Buies Creek; 2 sons, Stephen S. McLean and wife Tammy, of Smithfield, Randall G. Hare and wife Bonnie of Bentonville; a daughter, Michelle Daggett and husband Travis of Broadway; a step-daughter, Leigh Steinmeyer and husband Ernie of Apex; 2 sisters, Carol Benson and husband Duke of Selma and Betty Lou Cutts and husband Ronnie of Benson; a brother, Jimmy Brown of Buies Creek; 6 grandchildren.
