Obituary

MSG (Ret) Glenn Hamilton, US Army, 75, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home. He was born in Angier, NC, the son of the late Durwood Clifton and Della Mae Gregory Hamilton. After retiring from the US Army, Glenn and his family moved back to Harnett County in 1980. Glenn was a people person who loved helping his neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Haywood, Louis, Durwood and John William; sisters, Ethel Ryals, Lonie Stephenson and Janice Johnson; son-in-law, Darrell Frye.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel in Lillington. Burial with military honors will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. The family will receive friends Monday, April 27, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at his home.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Hamilton of the home; sons, Glenn Paul Hamilton and wife JoAnn of Sanford and Charles Brian Hamilton of Reading, PA; daughter, Theresa Marie Frye of Lansdown, VA; 2 grandsons, Paul Frye and wife Rebecca, Matthew Frye; 2 great-grandsons, Noah William Frye and Henry David Frye; sisters, Ruby Brown of Denton, NC and Mary Faye Alford and husband Danny of Fuquay-Varina, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.
