Mrs. Gladys Howell Latta, 82, of Bunnlevel died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at her home. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late William Jurdan and Nancy Elizabeth Howell. Mrs. Latta was a faithful member of Lillington Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a helpmate to her husband, James and a homemaker. Mrs. Latta was preceded in death by son, Jimmy, grandson, Daniel Latta; great-granddaughter, Bessie Battes and sister, Agnes Colville.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Lillington Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Smith and Rev. Danny Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends at the home.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Latta of the home; son, Jerry Latta and wife Shelia of Bunnlevel; daughter, Betty Rose Latta of Bunnlevel; daughter, Gloria Latta Lee and husband Warren of Wilmington; son, Chris Latta and wife Tracy of Bunnlevel; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Eunice Melvin of Fayetteville; sister, Becky Brock of Virginia; sister, Sue Thomas of Clayton.
