Mr. George June "Junior" Blackmon, 70, of Lillington, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late Troy and Nettie Blackmon. Junior was employed with Titan Mobile Homes for more than twenty years and was a mechanic at Yow's Repair in Lillington. He always had a joke and kept his sense of humor until the end. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his pets. Junior was preceded in death by his sisters, Emma Kennedy, Catherine Cross, Lottie Hardison and Lula Hair.

Junior is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Lavada McNeill Blackmon; son Jeff Blackmon and wife, Shelby of Lillington; daughter Amy Blackmon Parker and husband Jeff of Fuquay Varina; son Dannie Blackmon and wife, Beverly of Lillington; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother Hubert Blackmon of Linden; sister Dorothy West and husband Floyd of Hampstead; and sister Lena Blackmon of Sanford.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at 2 p.m. at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel in Lillington with Pastor Ben Pearce officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service and at the home.
