Fredrick "Lynn" McDonald, age 64, of Lillington died at home Thursday, September 29, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. He is the son of the late Fred Pittman McDonald and his surviving mother Iris Hudgins McDonald of Lillington. Lynn was a US Army Vietnam veteran. He was known and loved by many for his dedication and commitment to AA and he was passionate about helping many inmates who were recovering.

Memorial service will be 4:00 PM Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church, Lillington, NC with Rev. Robbie O'Quinn officiating.

He is survived by a son Fred McDonald and partner Fran Juergensmeyer of Wisconsin, brother, Graham McDonald and wife Deborah and their children Shanna and Matthew of Lillington, sister, Teresa Jernigan and husband Ricky and their children Heather and Tyler of Lillington, mother, Iris McDonald of Lillington, ex-wives, Cathy Cassidy of Angier and son Christopher Hovey, Sr., Vivian Smith of Mamers.
